Pfizer Faces Claim Neurontin Boosts Suicide Risk

July 24 (Bloomberg) -- Pfizer Inc. , the world's biggest drugmaker, goes to trial next week on claims its epilepsy drug Neurontin increases the risk of suicide, in a case the judge called "very tough" for the plaintiffs to win.

Merck Announces Second-Quarter 2009 Financial Results

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J.----Merck & Co., Inc. today announced financial results for the second quarter of 2009. The company reported non-GAAP earnings per share for the quarter of $0.83, which excludes $0.09 of restructuring charges and merger-related expenses.

Idaho to Receive $100,000 in Vytorin Settlement

Idaho will receive $100,000 from a legal settlement with the manufacturers of the cholesterol lowering drug Vytorin, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said.
