Merck to appoint safety watchdogs to end Vioxx suits (Arkansas News Bureau)
Merck & Co. has agreed to appoint two committees and a chief medical officer to monitor drug safety in the settlement of lawsuits filed by shareholders who lost billions when the company withdrew the arthritis pill Vioxx.
